Vanderbilt, Cornelius 


Cornelius Vanderbilt (27.5.1794 - 4.1.1877) was the creator and owner of the New York Central Railroad. Vanderbilt started in the steam ship and railroad business with his Accessory Transit Company. Vanderbilt started his logistics businesses at the age of 16 gradually building his empire.  


The Vanderbilts, originating from the humble beginnings, later gained immense fortune. For summers they owned a huge mansion in New Port Rhode Island (a picture to follow on the left).
