Switzerland is a fascinating country with multiple challenges given to the railroad building and operations. For one Switzerland is a country in the heart of Alps, huge mountains, which make the railroad building both challenging and dangerous. With the mountains the winter always arrives with lots of snow, snow that has to be removed for contionuous operations. The country in it's central place is also made for passing through, which has nowadays added to need to create network of long tunnels under the Alps to preserve the mountains of car traffic and pollution. We will take a look at both present and yeasterday of the challenging railroading and also bring you the large Swiss railroading gallery of 4rail.net. 		Rhätische Bahn The most popular railroad among tourists, but also important to the Swiss people is Rhätische Bahn. With it's 19th century roots this narrow gauge network has numerous "Zauberhafte" views of the alp mountains, gorges, rivers, woods.
